The HVE Certification : the present

The Domaine du Vieux Pressoir has just been certified HVE Level 3 (High Environmental Value), from the 2018 vintage.
This label is awarded to a Wine estate when it meets a series of criterias that reflect its commitment to respect the environment.

For the cultivation of vines, in our region, the mains criterias are:

– Promote biodiversity through the presence of hedges, trees, preserved natural areas.
– Reduce the use of pesticides by reducing the number of phytosanitary treatments and the doses of products used, by the use of weed replacement techniques such as the seeding of weeds between the rows or mechanical tillage, by the acquisition of advanced technological tools such as weather stations or more precise treatment devices.
– Changement in the use of fertilizers, the priority given to organic fertilizers, by carrying out soil tests, by sowing between the vines of plants that improve the soil and promote biodiversity.

This label is regularly checked by an independent organization. It is indicated by a specific logo.

The Organic Viticulture : the future

The Domaine du Vieux Pressoir will start its conversion to organic viticulture in the next two years.
This will allow us to elaborate organic wines with the greatest respect for the environment.

In the end, we will have the two labels that are complementary: the HVE label is the obligation of results, the Bio is the obligation of means
